New Delhi: The deadlock between India-China in East Ladakh has been going on for several months. Negotiations for peace on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) are continuing from both sides. Meanwhile, the officials of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology say that after the India-China deadlock over LAC, social media abuse cases are increasing rapidly. Officials said, more than 500 social media accounts, pages and sites have been blocked in September due to spreading misinformation and propaganda under the IT Act.

For information, let us know that amid the ongoing deadlock in East Ladakh, India has closed several Chinese apps in three phases. These apps include many companies such as TicketLock. In the monsoon session of Parliament, the central government said that they have addressed 3,635 such cases last year. An official said that till last year we were blocking about 200-250 accounts, pages and websites in a month on social media. He said that this year, this figure reached 250 in June, 300 in July, 400 in August and 500 in September.

According to a Hindustan Times report, 3,635 websites/pages/accounts were removed on social media last year for violating the IT Act 2000, this information was given by the Ministry in Parliament on 21 September. At the same time, if talking about 2017 and 2018, 1,385 and 2,799 social media pages were blocked.
More than 200 app blocks

With this, the central government has blocked more than 200 apps after the violent clash with China. Blocking these apps, the central government has cited security. Apart from this, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued an advisory. No banned Chinese app should be available in any form.
