Morena: One of the two Indian Air Force fighter jets (a Sukhoi-30 MKI and a Mirage-2000) crashed a day ago in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. The black box has been found, while only half of the flight data recorder of the other aircraft has been found. An official gave this information on Sunday. Ashutosh Bagri, Superintendent of Police, Morena district, said, “The black box of Miraj has been found in Pahargarh area of Morena district. Half of the black box of Sukhoi aircraft has also been found in Pahargarh area. It is possible that the remaining part of its black box may have fallen in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, adjacent to Pahargarh.

A flight data recorder is a small machine that records information about an aircraft during flight and is used to determine the cause of an accident. “The Indian Air Force, police and others are searching for the remaining parts of the Sukhoi’s flight data recorder,” Bagri said.

It may be known that these two fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crashed during a routine training sortie in Morena district on Saturday, in which Miraj pilot Wing Commander Hanumant Rao Sarathi was killed, while two Sukhoi pilots ejected safely. He was evacuated and was taken to a military hospital in an injured condition.

Defense experts had said that it was possible that there was a mid-air collision between the Russian-designed Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet and the French Mirage-2000, but there was no official comment from the Indian Air Force. According to officials, a high-level inquiry has been ordered into the accident.
