New Delhi: The Indian Air Force has grounded the entire fleet of fighter aircraft MiG-21. The Air Force recently grounded the MiG-21 that crashed in Rajasthan till the investigation is completed.

Please tell that on May 8, a MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. 3 women were killed in this accident. The Air Force official says that the MiG-21 aircraft will not fly until the reasons for the accident are known.

At present, the Airforce has 3 squadrons of MiG-21. There is a plan to gradually retire them by the beginning of 2025. The Airforce has a total of 31 combat aircraft squadrons.

It is noteworthy that in the last six decades, there have been more than 400 accidents involving the MiG-21, in which more than 200 brave pilots have lost their lives.

The MiG-21 was inducted into the ranks of the Indian Army in the 1960s. In the 1971 war, the first supersonic fighter aircraft MiG-21, which joined the Indian Air Force three years ago, wreaked havoc on the eastern and western fronts.

Initially, these jets were made in Russia only and then India acquired the right and technology to assemble this aircraft. After which Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) started production of MIG-21 fighter aircraft under this license in 1967.

This excellent aircraft was inducted into the ranks of the Indian Army in the 1960s. Then in the war of 1971, the first supersonic fighter aircraft MIG-21, which joined the Indian Air Force three years ago, wreaked havoc on the eastern and western fronts and soured the teeth of the enemy army.
