New Delhi: Amidst the rising prices of petrol and diesel, Maruti Suzuki has launched a new CNG car. The country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki) on Tuesday announced the launch of the CNG variant of its best-selling sedan car Dzire (DZire). The Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG (Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG) is available in two variants – VXI (VXi) and ZXI (ZXi).

The ex-showroom price of the Maruti Dzire CNG VXI variant has been kept at Rs 8.14 lakh. While the ex-showroom price of the Maruti Dzire CNG ZXI variant has been fixed at Rs 8.82 lakh. Maruti Suzuki has also made the Dzire CNG sedan available on a subscription model. Maruti Suzuki has said that the monthly subscription fee for the Dzire CNG model starts at Rs 16,999.

Who will compete
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG will compete with cars like the Hyundai Aura CNG and the Tata Tigor CNG in its segment. Apart from this, the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki DZire has joined the automaker’s list of other CNG cars which includes cars like Celerio, WagonR. With the launch of this CNG sedan, Maruti Suzuki now has a total of nine CNG cars in its CNG portfolio.

CNG car is economical
Maruti Suzuki claims that the launch of the CNG variant of the DZire sedan is in line with the Indian government’s vision to reduce oil imports and increase the share of natural gas in India’s primary energy mix from 6.2 percent to 15 percent by 2030. CNG is considered a clean and green fuel as compared to petrol and diesel. Also, CNG gives better mileage than petrol and diesel. This ultimately proves to be a more economical option for CNG car owners.

Other Features
In terms of design, the DZire CNG is similar to the petrol engine variant. The only change that has been made in this is the inclusion of a factory-fitted CNG kit in the boot storage. The CNG kit works with the 1.2-liter K-Series dual-jet dual VVT petrol engine. This engine is in CNG mode and generates 77 PS of power and 98.5 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Along with this, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG car gives a mileage of 31.12 kmpl.

Speaking about the launch of DZire CNG, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that with transformational technology like S-CNG, to meet their mobility needs, more and more customers Looking to switch to S-CNG vehicles.
