New Delhi: Indian car maker Mahindra launched its new electric car on Monday. This is the electric compact SUV XUV400 (Mahindra XUV400). People who like Mahindra vehicles were waiting for this car for many days. The electric car has been built on the chassis of the XUV300 compact SUV. It will be sold in two different models XUV400 EC and XUV400 EL in the market.

Mahindra XUV400 EV price starts at Rs 15.99 Lakh – Rs 18.99 Lakh, ex-showroom. However, the company told that the price of this electric SUV is for the first 5,000 bookings. After this, the prices will be increased. Mahindra is running with a lot of expectations from this electric car. The company aims to sell 20,000 XUV400 units in a year. This electric car from Mahindra will compete with the best-selling Tata Nexon EV in the country.

Battery, Power & Range
Mahindra XUV400 EC is its base model. It will get a 34.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, which will make 150 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. It will run for 375 km on a single charge. 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW chargers will also be available as an option with the SUV. The top model XUV400 EL, on the other hand, will get a bigger 39.4 kWh Lithium-Ion battery, which will deliver a range of 456 km on a single charge along with 150 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. This model will come with a 7.2 kW charger.

Fastest SUV in the segment
Mahindra also claims that the XUV400 will be the fastest electric SUV in the segment. It can run at a top speed of 150 kmph. Apart from this, the SUV will reach a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds. This electric SUV will come with three different driving modes, which will have the option of Fun, Fast and Fearless. Will be able to buy the electric SUV in Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, Infinity Blue, and Satin Copper Dual Tone color options.

Warranty, booking, and when will be the delivery?
The bookings for the SUV will start from January 26 and it will be delivered step by step across India. The company said that in the first phase, the XUV400 will be made available in 34 cities across India. Deliveries for the XUV400 EL will start in March 2023 and for the XUV400 EC during the Diwali festive season. The special thing is that the electric SUV will get a warranty for 3 years. This means that no matter how much you run it in 3 years, if it gets damaged, it will be rectified for free. Apart from this, there will be a warranty of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers (whichever is earlier) for the battery and motor.
