An official of the state control room, a ministry of the state disaster management unit, said that the ‘Tarak Garden’ building in Kajalpura in Mahad tehsil collapsed around 7 pm on Monday. The official said that there were about 40 flats in the building. He said that the rescued people have been admitted to a local hospital in Mahad. This place is about 170 km from Mumbai. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is working on the spot for rescue work.

This building is 10 years old. According to eyewitnesses, the building collapsed at 6.15 pm. At present, local police and fire department personnel were trying to remove the debris of the building and save people from the Poklen machine. The injured have been evacuated and admitted to a nearby hospital where their condition remains critical. Local citizens say that the foundation of Tariq Garden collapsed due to which the building collapsed. It is being told that some families of this building had moved out due to the lockdown. At the same time, about 30 to 35 people rushed out when the building started collapsing, which saved their lives.
