New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has said in a circular that domestic flight operators can now give ticket concessions to passengers, a discount for passengers traveling with less luggage. The new rule will allow operators to offer tickets at a lower price to those who choose to travel with no luggage or with cabin luggage only within an acceptable weight range.

To avail the discount, passengers have to declare at the time of booking of the ticket how many items they will be carrying. The aviation body has also not allowed other services such as preferential seating, food-breakfast-beverage fee, airline lounge, sports equipment fee and musical instrument fee etc.
