The trial run will start in the underground section
It may be known that a trial run will be started soon in the 4.8 km underground section from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade. It is believed that metro services in this section can be started this year. After the commencement of this section, Howrah will become the deepest metro station in the country. It is being told that the 520-meter portion under the Hooghly River can be covered by the metro in 45 seconds. Not only this but a tunnel has also been made 32 meters from the river.

It is known that many security measures have been taken to prevent the flow and leakage of water in the tunnel. A concrete mix made of fly ash and micro silica has been used in these sections to prevent water ingress.
