Kedarnath Yatra stopped due to bad weather, pilgrims stopped at Sonprayag and Gaurikund

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has informed that the process of rain will continue in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, it has been decided to stop the Kedarnath Yatra again. In view of the safety of the passengers due to continuous bad weather, the district administration has stopped the passengers going to Kedarnath Dham at Sonprayag and Gaurikund. Due to rain, 4 state roads and 10 link roads are closed due to debris.

IMD expressed the possibility of heavy rain
Officials said that the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers are in spate due to heavy rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for July 12 amid heavy rains in Uttarakhand. The IMD informed in a tweet that heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm) is likely over Uttarakhand and adjoining areas and western Uttar Pradesh on July 12.

Alert mode keeping in mind the warnings
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said that the state administration is on full alert mode in view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) warning of heavy rains in the region. Talking about the precautionary arrangements made in the state, CM Dhami said, ‘Natural calamities have to be faced here every year during the monsoon. Due to excessive rainfall, landslides occur and the water level of the rivers increases. We are totally impressed. All district administration officials and our disaster management people are doing their work. All of them have been asked to remain in alert mode to face any situation.


A red alert was issued for today in these four districts
