License required before starting the business

FSSAI said that under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2008, it will be mandatory for all food business operators (FBOs) to obtain license / registration before starting any food business. The regulator said that under the Food Safety and Standards (Restrictions and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011, any person can sell packaged drinking water or mineral water only after the BIS certification mark.

Ensure the quality of bottled water

This step of FSSAI will ensure the quality of bottled water. Right now there are many companies that sell bottled water. But their quality is not guaranteed. There is also a risk of harm to the health of the people.

BIS is also required for license renewal

Not only this, BIS license will be required for renewal of license also, license of companies without showing BIS license will also not be renewed. Also, only after getting the BIS license, the Food Business Operators operators will be able to fill the annual returns online. These orders of the FSSAI will come into force from 1 April 2021.
