Indore Beleshwar Mahadev Temple accident

Accident on Ram Navami
This incident took place during the Ram Navami festival at Beleshwar Mahadev Temple in Indore. There was a crowd in the temple and Havan was going on. Due to the crowd, some people sat on the net on the stepwell built inside the temple. Just then, the roof of the stepwell caved in and about 25 people sitting on it fell inside. The Babdi was about 40 feet deep and had water up to 6-7 feet. There was chaos as soon as the Babdi collapsed. As soon as the news was received, the team and leaders along with the top officers of the police administration reached the spot and immediately started the rescue work. Some people were taken out. But not all were lucky. Only their dead bodies came out of the stepwell.

CM gave instructions
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also immediately talked to the officers and ordered the rescue and relief work to be carried out quickly. He is keeping an eye on the rescue operation. He discussed this with the Indore collector and commissioner over the phone. It is being told that 10 people have been evacuated safely.

Collector’s statement
Indore collector Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T. told that people had gathered in the temple for the Havan. At the same time, the accident happened and 25 people fell into the well at once. Of these, 15 people have been rescued. He told that the actual figures will come out later.

Kamal Nath expressed grief
PCC Chief and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the sad news was received that 25 people fell into the stepwell during the Havan at Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Indore. The news of the death of some people is coming out due to falling in Bawdi. Many Congress leaders and workers are present on the spot. I appeal to the Congress leaders and workers to provide all possible help in this hour of crisis.
