New Delhi: Once again Indore in Madhya Pradesh has won in the matter of cleanliness. Indore has been ranked as the cleanest city in India for the 6th time in a row in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 Awards. At the same time, Surat in Gujarat has been ranked as the second cleanest city and Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra has been ranked as the third cleanest city in India. This information has been given by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Indore first among 4355 cities
By staying number one in the cleanliness ranking for the sixth time in a row, the residents of Indore have proved that cleanliness in the city has become a habit and ritual of the city. Indore has again worn the crown of cleanliness, beating 4355 cities of this tough competition. At the same time, if we talk about the states, Madhya Pradesh has secured first place among the best performing states in the ‘Swachh Survekshan Puraskar 2022’, followed by Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra at the second and third positions respectively.

The results of the cleanest city survey were announced on Saturday. Madhya Pradesh has secured the first position in the ‘Swachh Survekshan Puraskar 2022’ best performing states, followed by Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

Indore and Surat retained their top spot in the big cities category this year, while Vijayawada lost its third position. After that Navi Mumbai got this place. As per the survey results, Tripura has topped among the states with less than 100 urban local bodies. President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners at an event here on Saturday. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and others were also present on the occasion.

This is the condition of the cities situated on the banks of the Ganges
Panchgani of Maharashtra stood first in the category of cities with a population of less than one lakh. This was followed by Patan (NP) of Chhattisgarh and Karhar of Maharashtra. Haridwar remained the cleanest city on the banks of the Ganges in the category of more than one lakh population. This was followed by Varanasi and Rishikesh. According to the results of the survey, Bijnor stood first among the cities situated on the banks of Ganga with a population of less than one lakh. It was followed by Kannauj and Garhmukteshwar respectively.
