India will buy crude oil from Russia despite sanctions

New Delhi: Despite the sanctions imposed by Western countries and the comments of America against Russia’s illegal war on Ukraine, India has decided to buy subsidized crude oil from Russia. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said buying Russian oil was not a violation of US sanctions against Moscow, but urged India to think about where will you stand when history is written.

Indian government sources, however, said that “legitimate energy transactions should not be politicized.” It also said that Russia sells more oil to other countries than India. These also include countries that have imposed sanctions on Russia, but still many of these countries continue to buy oil from Russia.

These big countries buy crude oil from Russia

China
China is the second-largest country after the European Union in terms of importing crude oil from Russia. The International Energy Agency monitors oil production. This agency says that during this time there may also be an increase in sea shipments. Because Russian crude oil is moving towards China.

France
Russia accounted for 9.5 percent of the total imports in France in 2021. However, the French Association of Petroleum Industry has said that there may be alternative supplies and confirmed that we are reducing dependence on Russian diesel.

Germany
Russia’s crude oil consumption at Miro, Germany’s largest refinery, accounts for about 14 percent. Germany’s PCK Schwedt refinery – 54 percent of which is owned by Rosneft (a Moscow-based energy company).

Greece
Greece’s largest oil refiner said that in the second half of 2021, Russian crude oil accounted for about 15 percent of its consumption. But like in France it is expected that this will be changed. Deals to buy oil from Saudi Arabia are already underway.

turkey
Turkey currently has no such idea that it will not buy crude oil and related products from Russia. Turkey has opposed sanctions on Moscow. Tupras is the largest refiner in the country.

Poland
The country’s largest refiner PKN Orlen has said it is buying Russian crude for its refineries in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic but is ready to face any situation, including a complete suspension of supplies from Russia.
