New Delhi: There is good news for the countrymen as soon as the new year comes. Corona’s vaccine ‘Covishield’ has been approved by the expert panel for emergency use. Now at any time the work of applying Corona Vaccine will start across the country. This vaccine is from Oxford University and AstraZeneca, which has been prepared by the Serum Institute of India (SII) in India. In many countries of the world, including America and Britain, the work of applying Corona vaccine has already started. It is expected that in our country also the pace of vaccination will increase rapidly.
The Serum Institute of India has already prepared 7.5 crore doses of the vaccine, while it is expected that 100 million doses will be prepared in the first week of January. SII director of research and development Umesh Shaligram recently said in a webinar that no country in the world will have such a large stock of vaccines as India has. In the same week, SII chief Adar Poonawalla had said that 50% of the vaccine will be prepared in India, whereas the rest of the vaccine will be given to WHO.
10 million doses every month
Honor Poonawalla said, ‘We have always said that whatever dose we prepare, India will have half of it. If we prepare 6-7 crore doses in a month, then they will be given to India and other countries. We are hoping that India will get around 5 crore doses first. By March 1 crore doses will be prepared every month. The third factory is being prepared for making the vaccine.
Condition of second vaccine
Serum Institute of India is preparing another vaccine in collaboration with American company Novax. India will also get 50 percent dose. The third phase trials of Hyderabad-based company Bharat Biotech are going on these days. It is expected that this company will also produce about 300 million doses in a year. Apart from this, Jadeus Cadila is also preparing the vaccine. Also, India will get crores of doses every year.
How many people have been vaccinated so far?
According to the latest data, so far, one crore people have been dosed with the Corona vaccine. The maximum doses of vaccine are in China, America, Britain, and Israel. So far, a maximum of 11 percent of people in Israel have been vaccinated. If we talk about population, vaccine doses have been administered to 45 lakh people in China so far.
