New Delhi: The central government has taken a big decision regarding broken rice. India has banned the export of broken rice from today. This information has been given in the notification issued by Director General of Foreign Trade Santosh Kumar Sarangi. It has been told in the notification that the ban on the export of broken rice i.e. broken rice has come into force from today, 9th September 2022.

It is believed that due to less rainfall in many areas of the country, the production of rice may be affected this year. In view of this situation, in order to protect food security in India, after wheat and sugar, the export of broken rice has also been banned. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the total area under rice in India, the world’s second-largest producer, has fallen by 12% so far this season.

Explain that India accounts for about 40% of the global rice trade. In May this year, India banned shipments of wheat, saying the country’s food security was at risk, as record-breaking heat in several states had reduced wheat yields. India had also banned sugar exports to protect its food supply.
