New Delhi: In view of the threat of drone attacks in the country, the government has become very cautious. After several drone sightings on the border with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir, the government announced new drone rules in the country on August 25. Now new rules will apply to all drones flying in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also excited about this. He tweeted that these rules will help in developing India as a hub of drones.

Let us tell you that this policy has been made for those people who own drones in India. Under the new rule, the drone should be registered on the DGCA website, which should have the engine number, owner’s name, mobile number, and other details. The drone owner must have a unique ID under the Digital Sky platform.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, ‘The new drone rules are ushering in a historic moment for the sector in India. These rules are based on the basis of trust and self-certification. Acceptance and entry barriers have been reduced under these.

He says, “The new drone rules will be of great help to the start-ups working in this field and our youth. This will open new possibilities for innovation and business. This will help leverage the country’s strength in innovation, technology, and engineering to make India a drone hub.

If these drones fly at a height of 120 meters, then it will be considered a green zone, but if it flies below that, its owner will have to give detailed details. The yellow zone will remain below the height of 120 meters. In this, the person has to get permission from the concerned agency to fly the drone. Drones of defense institutions will be exempted from these rules. All safety protocols will have to be followed while flying the drone.

Also, there should be a geo-fencing capability inside the drone. Drones will not be allowed to fly if they are not registered on the Digital Sky platform. After the drone is manufactured or imported, it should be registered under the Digital Sky platform within 30 days and a unique number will have to be taken. If the drone is damaged, then the owner will have to start the process of de-registration immediately. The drone should have a real-time tracking device.

3 zones have been created to fly the drone. These are Red Zone, Yellow Zone, and Green Zone. Permission will be required to fly in Red and Yellow zones. There will be absolutely no permission to fly a drone with the intention of causing harm to anyone. The keeping of any kind of weapon, explosive or dangerous items in the drone will be completely prohibited. Before using the drone, the drone must also be tested and its owner must also obtain a valid license. The government has issued a special form, through which applications related to drones can be made.
