New Delhi: The first look of Sonakshi Sinha as Sunderben in Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt multi-starrer war-action film Bhuj: The Pride of India was unveiled on Friday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ajay Devgn said, Here is the first look of Sonakshi Sinha as Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, the brave social worker who took 299 women along with her to support the Indian Army! #BhujThePrideOfIndia a crucial incident from History will unveil soon with #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex.

Releasing the poster on her Instagram handle, Sonakshi said,Honoured to play the HEROIC role of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, the brave social worker who took 299 women along with her to support the Indian Army! #BhujThePrideOfIndia a crucial incident from History will unveil soon with #DisneyPlusHotstarMultiplex on @DisneyPlusHotstarVIP!

The first look shows Sonakshi as a Gujarati social worker Sunderben Jetha Madharparya with several traditional tattoos on her body.

Sunderben led 299 women in her effort to support the Indian Army during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Bhuj: The Pride of India is directed, co-produced and written by Abhishek Dudhaiya.

Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it is about the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who and his team reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 local women.

The film features Ajay Devgn as Karnik, along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk and Pranitha Subhash in the lead roles.
