Mumbai: After former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis contracted the coronavirus, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Sunday that he was asking him to be careful and now he would realize the situation outside. Talking to reporters here, Raut said that Thackeray had instructed the authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for Leader of the Opposition Fadnavis. Fadnavis had said on Saturday that he had contracted the coronavirus. A party source said the BJP leader was admitted to a government hospital in Mumbai and his condition was stable. The source said that on his return to Mumbai on Friday evening, Fadnavis had undergone a self-examination, as some BJP leaders who were involved in the Bihar election campaign with him have been found infected with Covid-19.

Fadnavis was also on a tour of flood-affected western Maharashtra and Marathwada region from October 19 to 21. Asked whether Thackeray would target the BJP in his annual Dussehra address on Sunday evening, Raut said, “We were asking Devendra Fadnavis to be careful. They will now realize that the situation outside is serious. The opposition was targeting the Chief Minister for not going anywhere. He said that Fadnavis has set a good example by admitting himself in a government hospital and Thackeray has given instructions to ensure his best treatment. The Shiv Sena chief spokesperson also said that the vaccine of Covid-19 should be for all citizens and its politicization is not right. He said that Shiv Sena has made arrangements to reach out to 20 million people in the state with Thackeray’s address on the occasion of Dussehra. Thackeray will deliver a speech on the occasion of Dussehra at Savarkar Auditorium in front of Shivaji Park on Sunday evening which will be attended by 50 people including MLAs, MPs, ministers and the Chief Minister’s family.
