New Delhi: The Election Commission has disabled about 253 small parties in the country that do not follow the rules. The smaller parties that have been deactivated include those contesting elections in many states. Based on the report of the Chief Electoral Officers of Bihar, UP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Delhi, these parties have been deactivated. Along with this, the names of 86 minor parties have also been removed from the list of political parties by the Election Commission.

It has been told that the Election Commission of India was collecting information for a long time about those political parties which were not visible after getting the election symbol. Regarding this, the Election Commission prepared a detailed report from the Chief Electoral Officers of Bihar, UP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Delhi. On the basis of this report, these parties have been disabled. It has been told that the Election Commission had sent notices to 253 parties. The smaller parties did not respond to the Election Commission’s notice.

According to the information, after getting permission from the commission to contest elections, it is mandatory to follow the conditions related to the symbol. Small parties in many states of the country were not following it. 253 parties have been disabled for not following the rules.
