Copenhagen: The Nobel Committee said on Wednesday that it and the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize-winning World Food Program (WFP) have jointly decided that next month’s award ceremony in Oslo will be held in Covid-19 will not be held physically due to the epidemic.

The committee said in a statement that due to the current restrictions in Oslo, it would not be possible to organize the ceremony properly. WFP chief David Beasley was expected to travel to the Norwegian capital to receive the award on behalf of the organization, but he will now accept the award at a digital ceremony on December 10.
