Court sent Deep Sidhu to 7-day police custody

New Delhi: On January 26, the Tees Hazari court of Delhi has sent Deep Sidhu to 7-day police custody in the Red Fort violence case. The police had asked for 10-day custody from the court, but the court has sent Deep Sidhu in seven-day custody. However, the police told the court that Deep Sidhu was arrested from Karnal and further remand of Deep Sidhu may be needed. On the other hand, defense lawyers said that Deep Sidhu had reached the wrong place at the wrong time. He did not try to escape. Earlier Deep Siddhu was presented in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Pragya Gupta of Tis Hazari Court.

Police said that videography evidence is available against Deep Sidhu. Also, there is a case of provoking people and also damaging public property. The police said that Deep Sidhu’s social media also has to be investigated and he has to take the matter of investigation to Punjab and Haryana. The police told the court that the tractor of the farmers violated the rules during the march. The flag was hoisted at the Red Fort and after this, Deep Sidhu was at the forefront of the riots.

Explain that Deep Sidhu, who was absconding for 15 days after the Red Fort violence, was arrested by Karnal Karnal on Tuesday morning. A reward of one lakh rupees was placed on him. However, amidst the absconding, Deep Sidhu was constantly issuing video messages from his social media account. He said in one of his videos that he has done nothing wrong and he has no fear. Investigation agencies should not disturb his family. Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested him.

On the other hand, another accused Sukhdev Singh in the same case has been sent to judicial custody till 19 February.
