Mumbai: India has congratulated China on the occasion of Independence Day. Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong wrote on Twitter congratulating the Government and people of India on Independence Day, “We hope that both great countries will move forward with peace and close partnership”
Sun Weidong said, “Congratulations and best wishes to the Government of India and the people of India on Independence Day 2020. China and India, the two great nations of ancient civilization, should develop in peace and in close partnership. “
This congratulation of China has come at a time when there is constant tension between the two countries. Tension is on the border due to violent clashes between soldiers in the Pangong Tso area of eastern Ladakh. Five-phase work to date has been held between the top commanders of the Indian and Chinese military in eastern Ladakh within two months so far to ensure the swift withdrawal of troops from all the clashes along the Line of Actual Control. In such a situation, on the occasion of Independence Day, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) soldiers today celebrated Independence Day at the height of thousands of feet along the banks of Pangong Tso. The soldiers have waved ITBP flags and tricolor.
On India’s Independence Day, leaders and diplomats from all over the world greeted India on the 74th Independence Day. After the soured relations between India and Nepal a few days ago, today Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli has also tweeted congratulating India and wrote, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the Government and the people of India for the 74th Congratulations and best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. Best wishes for the greater progress and prosperity of the people of India. “
