According to the new order of the State Election Commission, now the nomination will be held on March 15 and the process of voting will be completed on April 9. At present, 48 members of SP, 33 of BJP, and 6 of BSP are present in the UP Upper House. The ruling BJP would like to get a majority in the Legislative Council by winning the maximum number of seats in these elections.

According to the State Election Commission, UP’s Meerut-Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur, Lucknow-Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Bahraich, Gonda, Faizabad, Basti-Siddharthnagar, Gorakhpur-Maharajganj, Deoria, Azamgarh-Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur-Sonbhadra, Allahabad, Banda-Hamirpur, Jhansi-Jalaun-Lalitpur, Kanpur-Fatehpur, Moradabad-Bijnor, Rampur-Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit-Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Kheri, Sitapur, Etawah-Farrukhabad, Elections are to be held on Agra-Firozabad, Mathura-Etah-Mainpuri, Aligarh and Bulandshahr seats. For this, BJP, SP, and BSP are expected to have a tough fight.
