CDS Rawat and his wife and 11 other jawans have died in an army helicopter crash in Kannur, Tamil Nadu, but now it has been learned that CDS Rawat was alive immediately after the accident and had also told his name to the eyewitnesses. A person involved in the relief and rescue team has informed that he first reached near the scattered debris of the chopper. After the accident, this rescue worker named NC Murali, who was involved in the team that reached there for relief and rescue, has told that we saved 2 people alive, one of which was CDS Bipin Rawat himself. He told his name in a very weak voice. He died on the way to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses told that the lower part of the body of CDS Rawat was badly burnt. He was wrapped in a bedsheet and taken to an ambulance. According to the rescue worker, there were also a lot of trees near the accident site, so there was a lot of difficulty and delay in starting the rescue work. NC Murali, who was involved in relief work, said that later it was learned that out of the two people who were rescued alive, the other person was identified as Group Captain Varun Singh.

After the incident of CDS General Bipin Rawat’s helicopter crash, now Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary has reached the spot in Delhi. They will inspect the accident site today. After the incident, the IAF has already ordered an inquiry.
The helicopter crashed in Coonoor near the hilly Nilgiri district on Wednesday. The helicopter was on its way from the Indian Air Force’s Sulur base to the Defense Services College (DSC) in Wellington. The mortal remains of the late Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat in the helicopter crash will be brought to Delhi by an army ship this evening. The last rites of CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife will be held at Delhi Cantt on Friday. CDS Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 other jawans were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor district on Wednesday.
