New Delhi: Singer Sarah Harding of ‘Girls Aloud’ has died at the age of 39 due to breast cancer. Singer’s mother has announced this sad incident. According to a news published on the BBC, Sara had told in August last year that she was suffering from this disease, which had spread to other parts of her body.

Singer’s mother Mary informed about the news on Instagram, describing her daughter as ‘a shining star’. Earlier this year, Harding revealed that doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to see next Christmas.

Sharing a black-and-white photo of Harding, her mother wrote, ‘I am sharing today with deep sadness the news that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away. Many of you would know about Sara’s battle with cancer. She struggled with it till the very end. She left this world in peace this morning.

Sarah Harding gained popularity in 2002 with an ITV talent show ‘Popstar: The Rivals’. The purpose of this show was to find a girl band and a boy band. The singer then managed to make it to the finals. From here his band ‘Girls Aloud’ came into existence, in which he joined Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Kimberly Walsh, and Cheryl Cole.

The band had several UK hits, including ‘Sound of the Underground, ‘The Promise’, ‘Love Machine’ and ‘Jump and Call the Shots’. It came together again in 2012. They announced their separation in 2013.
