Music composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar is the brother of Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, and Usha Mangeshkar. He is known as Balasaheb in the music and film world. The only son of Dinanath Mangeshkar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar started his music career with the 1955 Marathi film ‘Akash Ganga’. Since then, he has composed music for various Marathi films such as Sansar, Chaani, Ha Khel Savlyancha, Janaki, Jait Re Jait, Umbartha, and Nivdung and some Bollywood films; The most popular of these was Subah, but… and Maya Memsab.

He is also the first Indian musician to compose and release two full albums, titled ‘Chala Wahi Des’ and ‘Meera Bhajan’, featuring poems and songs by poet-saint Meera. In the year 2009, Hridaynath had joined the Shiv Sena party.
