New Delhi: The government said in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that 89 people died after the Covid Vaccination was done by 16 March, but as of now, according to current evidence this vaccine is not responsible for any death.
Minister of State for Health Ashwini Choubey told Rajya Sabha in a written reply that the adverse effects of vaccines (AEFI) are monitored through a well-organized and robust monitoring system.
Choubey said, “As of 16 March 2021, a total of 89 deaths have been reported after the Covid-19 vaccination. According to the evidence so far, Covid vaccination has not been held responsible for any deaths. ”
He said that appropriate measures have been taken for arranging the AEFI. These include the availability of essential kits at the vaccination sites, immediate referral and 30-minute care.
