New Delhi: The data for the 8 Core Infrastructure Sector has been released by the government on Friday. The month of June was the fourth consecutive month when the growth of these 8 infrastructures has come down. It fell 15 percent on a year-on-year basis. Only Fertilizer Output has seen a boom during June. However, this decline has been less than in May. Figures released on Friday by the Industry Department show that core sector growth in June was down 15 percent. In May it was at 22 percent.

The biggest decline has been in steel sector (-33.8%), coal sector (-15.5%), electricity (-11%) and natural gas (-12%). Fertilizer productivity has increased by 4.2 percent. However, it is also lower than in May. This figure was 7.5 percent in May.

Data released separately by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) shows that in the first quarter of FY 2021, the central government financial has spent 83.2 percent of the deficit. It was 61.4 percent in the same period last year.
