7-day home quarantine mandatory for all international travelers arriving in India: Central Government

New Delhi: The daily cases of corona in the country are increasing. Due to which the possibility of a third wave has increased. Meanwhile, the central government has issued a circular. In which it has been said that it is mandatory for all international incoming passengers to remain in home quarantine for 7 days. After this, the RTPCR test will be done on the eighth day. This new standard operating procedure will be valid from January 11, 2022, till further orders.

According to the circular issued by the central government, people desirous of traveling to India will have to submit complete and factual information in a self-declaration form on the online air facility portal –https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration.

The guidelines also state that travelers arriving from “at-risk” countries will have to submit samples for testing for COVID-19 on arrival. And wait for your corona report at the arrival airport before departing or taking the connecting flight.

As per the protocol, if any passenger tests positive, their samples will be sent to the INSACOG laboratory for genomic testing. An isolation facility and treatment will be done for the positive passenger.

The guidelines further stated that all passengers, including two percent selected for random testing, will be in-home quarantine for a week if they report negative and an RT-PCR test will be done on the eighth day.

Daily cases in the country cross 1 lakh
It is noteworthy that the number of daily cases of corona in India crossed the 1 lakh mark on Friday, as 1,17,100 new cases of Kovid-19 have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours.
