New Delhi: The Indian Tourist Transporters Association and the Delhi Goods Transport Association have called for a strike on 8 December to show solidarity with the farmers’ protest in Delhi. 51 Transport Unions have given their support on the call of ‘Bharat Bandh’ by farmers’ organizations on 8 December.

At the same time, Olympic medalist and Haryana boxer Vijender Singh have also jumped into the farmers’ movement. Today is the 11th day of the farmers agitating against the agricultural laws on the borders of Delhi. Vijender Singh has warned the government that if this law is not withdrawn, then they will return their Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. In the last Lok Sabha election, Vijender Singh has also contested on a Congress ticket.

The government can call a special parliament session
5 times talks have been held between the farmers and the government on the withdrawal of the agricultural laws, but till now all remained stable. However, amidst these discussions, the government had indicated to amend the agricultural laws. Sources reveal that the government is planning to amend the agricultural laws and for this, it can also call a special session of Parliament. At present, there will be a re-negotiation between the farmers’ organizations and the government, which announced the Bharat Bandh on 8 December.
