New Delhi: In the midst of the critical situation of the Covid-19 in the country, four cryogenic (capable of maintaining low temperatures) tankers have been airlifted from Singapore to carry oxygen to various parts of the country. Four cryogenic oxygen containers arrived at the Panagar airbase in West Bengal from Singapore on Saturday. These containers were airlifted from Changi Airport in Singapore to the Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft this morning.

On Friday, the Union Home Ministry said it was in talks with Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to import high-capacity oxygen tankers. This step was taken by Union Home Minister Amit Shah after reviewing the coronavirus situation in the country.

In the latest statement from the Indian Air Force, it has been told that large oxygen tankers have started airlifting at large stations across the country so that the delivery of essential oxygen can be expedited.
