New Delhi: The Indian Navy on Thursday deployed its vessel capable of conducting rescue operations in the depths of the sea to locate the missing submarine of the Indonesian Navy. The missing submarine carries 53 people. According to Indonesian authorities, the submarine ‘KRI Nanggala-402 ′ (Germany) submarine’ KRI Nanggala-402 ‘went missing on Wednesday when it was on military practice in the Strait of Bali.
Indian Navy officials said that the ‘Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV) left from Visakhapatnam to help the Indonesian Navy search for the missing submarine.
He said that the Indian DSRV is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and it has ‘sonar’ equipment for detecting submarines facing the sea. It is noteworthy that several countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, are sending their rescue vessels to locate the Indonesian submarine.
