Why is wheat becoming expensive?
Regarding the rise in wheat prices, experts say that wheat is not being supplied from the open market. Wheat is missing from mandis in eastern India. The stock of wheat is very less in the mandis of Uttar Pradesh. Wheat is coming from Gujarat in the mandis of UP. Even in Haryana and Punjab, stockists and farmers do not have much wheat. Those who have, are currently not selling it due to the increase in price. In such a situation, due to the increase in demand due to less supply, there is a rise in the prices of wheat. Now flour mills are also facing difficulties in getting wheat.
