Patna: The meeting of the state cabinet was held on Monday evening under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 14 agendas have been stamped in the meeting, in which the proposal to notify the amount of fine and the powers of the magistrate under the most important Prohibition Amendment Act 2022 was approved. According to the decision of the cabinet, the three percent dearness allowance has been increased from April 1, 2022, for the state government employees and retired employees.

There are not many days left for the Liquor Prohibition Amendment Bill to take the form of law in Bihar. It has been passed by both the Houses of Bihar Legislature – Vidhan Sabha and Legislative Council. This new law will become effective after getting approval from the Governor. Under this new law, the confusion that existed earlier on the matter of punishment for people caught drinking alcohol is now completely dispelled. If caught for the first time drinking alcohol, people can get away by paying a fine. But this does not mean that he will show intimidation in front of the police and magistrate.
