
New Delhi: The Central Government has started Sahara Refund Portal (CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal) to get back the money of 10 crore investors who invested in the Sahara Group. Through this portal, investors who have invested money in 4 cooperative societies of Sahara Group can get their money back. The money will be returned only to those investors whose investment maturity has been completed. Initially, 10-10 thousand rupees will be refunded to the investors. Investors will not have to pay any fee to claim a refund.
On March 29, the Supreme Court directed to transfer of Rs 5000 crore lying in the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) on the Central Government’s petition. Now these five thousand crore rupees will be returned to the investors in the first phase. This money will be given to those investors who have invested in Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.
Make all claims in one form
If an investor has invested in more than one cooperative society of Sahara, then he will have to file all his claims in the refund form available on the portal to get a refund. Sahara Group of Co-operative Society will verify the claim application within 30 days of submission. Claim status information will be given through SMS or on the portal after 15 days of filing the claim form on the portal. It may take up to 45 days to complete the claim process.
What will be the fees?
To get the money back, one has to log in to the portal by clicking on the link of the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal given on the website of the Ministry of Cooperation (https://cooperation.gov.in). Investors will not have to pay any fee to get a refund.
How to claim a refund online
Investors who have invested money in these four cooperative societies of Sahara Group will have to visit the website of the Ministry of Cooperation (https://cooperation.gov.in) to get a refund. Scroll down there and click on CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal. After doing this the CRCS-Sahara refund portal will open. First of all, the option of depositor registration will appear here. Click on it. For registration, the last four letters of the Aadhaar and the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar will have to be given. Then enter the OTP received on the mobile.

Now click on Depositor Login on the portal. Again enter the four digits of your Aadhaar and your mobile number. Enter OTP in the prescribed space. Accept the request made for taking Aadhaar data. By doing this, your Aadhaar information will be in front of you. After this, you will see the claim form. Fill in all the information sought in it. Upload the required documents.
You can also make more than one claim. If your claim amount is more than 50 thousand rupees, then give your PAN number. Verify your claim. After this, download the claim form by clicking on the download option. Affix your photograph on this form and sign in the space provided. Now scan it and upload it again and submit it. You will get the message of a form submission on your mobile number.
