New Delhi: Google has introduced new teen supervision features for parents to help them manage their children’s technology use. Here are the key features:

  1. It helps reduce distractions during class by limiting access to specific apps. Parents can schedule and select which apps are allowed during School Time using the Family Link parental controls app. They can also allow calls or texts from specific contacts during this period.
  2. YouTube Account Linking: In an upcoming update, parents and teens will be able to link their accounts on YouTube. This enables parents to gain visibility into their teens’ activity on YouTube, helping them monitor content and ensure a safe online experience.
  3. Flexible Supervision Settings: Google continues to provide tailored settings and experiences for parents. In Family Link, supervision can be enabled for all ages, allowing parents to determine the apps, products, and experiences their teens can use. Default safety settings are in place for all users under 18, including SafeSearch, content restrictions, and turning off autoplay on YouTube.
