Bengaluru: Walmart-owned e-commerce company Flipkart has acquired Bengaluru-based Augmented Reality company Scapic.
The move will enable the leading e-commerce company to expand its shopping experience capability on its platform. Flipkart said that with the acquisition of a 100 percent stake in Scapic, a talented team of experienced developers and designers will also join it.
According to the company, the team will work to improve the camera experience and virtual store experience. At the same time it will create new opportunities for brand advertisements on its platform.
However, the company has not disclosed the value of the deal. The statement said that due to the epidemic, the behavior of consumers has changed a lot. In this case, Flipkart is trying to improve the consumer experience through investment. The company is focusing on enhancing its technology capabilities.
