Indore: Famous poet Rahat Indauri died on Tuesday due to a heart attack. He was also infected with the Corona virus, for which he was admitted to Arvindo Astpal late night of August 10 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The financial condition of his family was very poor in the initial days. He also had to work as a sign-board painter.
Rahat Indauri used to become the life of the mahfil (mahfil ki Jaan) he went to with his Sharo-shayari. It can be said that in recent years, he emerged as the most beloved and hit poet of the stage. He was 70 years old.
Rahat was born in Indore on January 01, 1950, to a textile mill employee, Raftullah Qureshi, and Maqbool Un Nisha Begum. All his studies were done in Indore. He completed his graduation in 1973 from Islamia Karimiya College Indore, Indore. He did his MA in Urdu literature in 1975 from Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
Rahat Indori’s studies did not stop here. He received his Ph.D. in Urdu literature from Bhoj Open University in Madhya Pradesh in 1985.
He started his career as a teacher of Urdu literature at Indrakumar College, Indore. He soon became popular among the students. Then he kept busy with mushairs. The financial condition of the family was not very good and Rahat had to face many difficulties in the initial days.
In recent years, he received invitations from Mushayars from all over India and abroad. He had great ability and originality. He also knew a lot about words. With this, he went on to become a hit. Started making a place in hearts among people. His poem Khushboo was a big hit, which in a way made him a famous poet in the world of Urdu literature.
The biggest thing was also that not only in literature and studies, but he was not less in sports. He was also the captain of the football and hockey team at school and college level.
Rahat Indori had two elder sisters named Tehzeeb and Takib. Apart from this, he has two brothers Akil and Adil.
Due to the financial condition of the family, he had to start working as a sign-painter at less than 10 years of age. He was also interested in painting. He also earned a name in this.
It was also a time when customers had to wait months to get the boards painted by Rahat. Paint on many signboards made for shops here can be seen even today in Indore.
