Various programs are organized by Earth Day Organization (formerly Earth Day Network) on this day. It includes more than 1 billion people from 193 countries.

What is the theme of the year 2022
The theme of this year’s World Earth Day is ‘Invest in our Earth’. Means ‘invest in our earth’. The key point in this is to act boldly, innovate widely and implement equitably. Earlier in the year 2021, the theme of World Earth Day was ‘Restore our Earth’ and the theme of the year 2020 was ‘Climate Action’.

History
World Earth Day is celebrated by 192 countries at the global level. In view of the indiscriminate felling of forests and trees in the 60-70s, in September 1969 at a conference in Seattle, Washington, US Senator Gerald Nelson of Wisconsin announced to celebrate it. Schools and colleges of America actively participated in this nationwide mass movement. And more than 20 thousand people gathered in this conference. This day is being celebrated continuously since the year 1970.
