New Delhi: In today’s changing lifestyle, people have started eating fewer sweets to keep themselves physically fit. For weight loss, they have started using sugar-free instead of sugar in tea or coffee. If you are also doing the same, then you must read this news. Scientists say that using artificial sugar or artificial sweeteners has a bad effect on health. This can increase the blood sugar level in the body very high.
According to the study published in the science journal Cell, artificial sweeteners have a bad effect on the level of micro-organisms in the body i.e. the micro-organisms in the human body. This can lead to a very high level of glucose in the blood. Actually, sugar has blank calories. That is why it increases the risk of obesity. That is why people often prefer to eat those things in which their low-calorie substitutes are used instead of sugar.
Low-calorie options are added to these things
There are two such synonyms – saccharin and aspartame. They are commonly added to cakes, toothpaste, chewing gum, bottled drinks, and ready-to-cook meals to give a sweet taste to food. Data from the new study indicates that people should consume them with more caution.
Reaction in gut bacteria
During the study, researchers found that after consuming artificial sweeteners, gut bacteria react to them. Due to this, changes are visible in the glycemic response, which in turn leads to complications related to diabetes. Similarly, consumption of sugar-free or other types of artificial sugars also affects the level of glucose tolerance in adults.
Metabolism can also be affected
In some studies that have come out before this, it was also said that the metabolism of the body is affected by the consumption of artificial sweeteners. They may have problems like loss of appetite or feeling very hungry.
How much sugar-free is right to take?
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) states that the claim of low sugar can be made only in which the amount of sugar per 100 grams of weight is less than 5 grams. To be sugar-free, the amount of sugar in the sweets per 100 grams of weight should not be more than 0.5 grams.
