Brussels: EU on Thursday plans to pass a bill that violates certain provisions of last year’s legally binding agreement between the European Union and Britain over Brexit. Took legal action. EU action underscores the deteriorating relationship with Britain.

Significantly, Britain was a member of the EU as of 31 January. The two sides are trying to reach a free trade agreement by the end of this year, but the ongoing tussle over the UK’s Internal Markets Bill has soured their relationship. European Commission chairperson Ursla von Leyen said that the UK’s plan to “segregate the agreement is a natural violation”.
