New Delhi: In a significant move to enhance commuter convenience, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has partnered with Amazon Pay to introduce a new QR ticketing system. This initiative allows passengers to purchase metro tickets directly from their mobile phones using Amazon Pay, streamlining the ticketing process and reducing congestion at ticket counters.
How to Get Your QR Ticket
Passengers can now easily obtain QR tickets by selecting the ‘Delhi Metro QR ticket’ option under the Amazon Pay tab on their mobile devices. After choosing their starting and destination stations, they can complete the payment online and receive the QR ticket instantly on their phones. This system offers a quick, contactless, and hassle-free experience for millions of daily commuters.
Using the QR Ticket
To use the QR ticket, passengers simply need to place their smartphones in front of the QR code scanner at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates to enter and exit metro stations. This innovative approach not only makes daily travel more efficient but also supports eco-friendly efforts by reducing paper waste.
