Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old law student was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her hostel room at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Law University on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Anika Rastogi, was a third-year Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) student.
Anika, the daughter of senior IPS officer Santosh Rastogi, who currently serves as Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, was discovered unconscious in her room. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
According to sources, concerns arose when Anika did not respond to repeated knocks on her door. When the door was forcibly opened, she was found lying on the floor, unresponsive.
The Ashiyana Police have sent her body for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. The results of the postmortem are expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the case, seeking to uncover the events leading up to this tragic incident. The university community and Anika’s family are in deep mourning as they await answers.
