Alerts have been issued on the coasts of Tamilnadu and Puducherry. 6 teams of the National Disaster Rescue Team (NDRF) have also been sent to the Center. According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclonic Storm Nivar could cross the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours. Landslides may also occur in Mamallapuram and Karaikal areas due to cyclonic storm.
