Corona speed up in Maharashtra and Kerala, Center instructs both states

New Delhi: In view of the increasing case of corona in Maharashtra and Kerala, the central government has given advice to both states. Explain that a total of 72 percent of the active case of Covid-19 in the country is in these two states. Now the Center has asked both states to do maximum RT-PCR testing. The government said that there are 61,550 active cases of corona in Maharashtra while there are 37,383 cases in Kerala. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the number of RT-PCR tests in Maharashtra and Kerala has come down. This may also be a reason for the rise in new cases of the corona.

Rajesh Bhushan said that there have been four cases of new South African strains in the country. While there are 187 cases of UK strain. New strains in both countries are more contagious than chronic infections. He said that 87,40,595 lakh people have been vaccinated in the country so far. The first dose has been given to 85,69,917 lakh people while the second dose has been given to 1,70,678 lakh people. In case of an epidemic, India is helping many countries of the world. India has given Coronavirus vaccine supplements to 24 countries.

The Union Health Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, no deaths have been reported in 17 states and union territories due to Covid-19 and no new cases of infection have been reported in six of them. The ministry said that the number of such people has increased to 1,06,33,025 with 11,805 more patients becoming healthy in a day. The rate of recovery of patients in India has been 97.32 percent. In this context, India is among those countries where this rate is the highest.

The ministry underlined that the difference between the healthy people and the patients under treatment has increased to 1,04,96,153. The ministry said, ‘In another positive development, the recovery rate of patients in 31 states and union territories has been higher than the national average. The rate of recovery of patients in Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli is 99.88 percent.
