New Delhi: While on one hand, China is claiming that poverty is completely eradicated, on the other hand, beggars are becoming more modern now. Yes, now they are begging through e-wallet and are earning thousands and millions of rupees almost every month. Now that the technology in China is very advanced in the same way, now people usually carry cards instead of cash. In such a situation, beggars could not ask for money from the people, seeing that they have changed themselves to demand and have now made themselves digital.
After all, why mention Chinese beggars?
The reason behind this is that a petition in the Indian court. In fact, the Supreme Court has asked for a petition from some states including the Center. In this petition, it has been said to give instructions to remove begging from the category of crime. On this, the petitioner said that if begging becomes a crime then people will really have no choice but to become a criminal or die of hunger.
Digital beggars:
If we see here, beggars have become modern even in the midst of digital revolution in China. They now go with them for the convenience of e-payment so that no one can excuse any kind of holiday money. Along with this, a report by Financial Express explains this in detail. It states that they carry a paper with a QR code and take it to stand in places like the city’s tourist spots or shopping malls. There is a lot of tourists and local people coming to such places. In such a situation, they get more and more begging.
Chinese e-wallet companies are also helping:
Two of China’s largest e-wallet companies now help beggars in this task. Ellipse and WeChat Wallet have colluded with beggars. It happens that as soon as beggars take money with the help of QR codes, the data of the giver goes to the companies. These companies then use this data for their advertisements or any other such benefit.
QR codes are now being sold and sold:
The most interesting thing in all this is that Chinese beggars do not even need to have a mobile phone to operate an e-wallet here. The money received from people now goes directly to their digital wallet, which is made by these companies only. Then with this QR code, beggars go to the market to get food shops or other items of need and they show the same code in the shops. Thus beggars of China also contribute to the economic pace there.
