New Delhi: Crafton, the developer of the popular Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) game, has made a new disclosure. He has said that he will start banning the equipment used by gamers in one of their popular battle royale games in India.

The ban on the device has been in effect since December 24 and the company said in a blog post, “In order to deliver generic gameplay and eliminate the use of illegal programs, we want to announce an additional punishment for cheaters. Till now, only profiles were banned, but now mobile devices will also be banned, making generic gameplay far more effective.”

The new policy update will make it more difficult for cheaters to return to the game. Keep in mind that when a profile is banned, criminals can bypass it by creating additional profiles on the same device. However, bypassing the device ban will be more difficult.

Crafton has focused on fair gameplay since the game’s initial phase and is striving for a better gaming experience. However, with the release of the 1.7 updates, the game has become a hotbed of hackers who use different IDs to log into the game. With the device being restricted, the device may (depending on the IP address of the network hardware or device ID) prevent playing on that device even with the new profile.

With the restrictions on the device, expect the BGMI experience to be less cheater now. As the only way to avoid the ban for playing the game will be a new profile and a new smartphone, thus, all the progress you have made in the previous game will be lost. Between December 13, 2021, and December 19, 2021, Crafton took a major decision and banned 99,583 players.

Previously, Crafton had banned over 2.5 million profiles and introduced a new anti-cheat mechanism. The Hack Detection System was able to detect and monitor hackers in real-time. In 1 month, the company collected data for more than 25 lakh users and new 1 lakh users who were using illegal programs and hacks.

Crafton also recently confirmed that starting next month, BGMI will no longer support data transfer from PUBG Mobile. The developer has announced that this change will be applicable after December 31, so that users will not be able to transfer data from PUBG Mobile to BGMI.
