New Delhi: Preparations for the Chandrayaan-3 mission have been completed in India. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) can launch it between July 12-19. ISRO Chief S. Somnath said that many things are happening regarding the launch date. Many types of tests are going on right now and the final date will be announced after its completion. Earlier it was said that ISRO is going to launch Chandrayaan-3 on July 13. Chandrayaan-3 will be launched at 2:30 pm from Sriharikota Center in Andhra Pradesh.
S Somnath said that at present the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft is fully integrated. We have installed the payloads. Currently, the period between July 12-19 is fixed for the launch. In no time we will announce the exact date after all. ‘Tests completed..’ Actually, the earlier Chandrayaan-2 mission was launched on 22 July 2019. About 2 months later, on 7 September 2019, Vikram Lander, trying to land on the Moon’s South Pole, crashed. Since then, India is preparing for the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Vigilant about landing, change in technology, use of sensors
This time ISRO scientists are very cautious about landing remembering old lessons, they don’t want to make any mistakes. For this, the landing technique of Chandrayaan-3’s lander has been changed. ISRO is sending only lander and rover in the Chandrayaan-3 mission. It has been said that the contact of the Lander-Rover will be connected with the orbiter of Chandrayaan-2 revolving around the Moon.
Sensors will be activated only from a height of 2 km.
At the time of landing, sensors will be used to save the lander from height, landing place, speed, and stones. This time Chandrayaan-3 will test and land on the lunar surface from a height of 7 KM. After this the sensors will be in active mode and from a height of 2 km they will decide their direction, speed, and landing side.
Launching will happen after all the tests are completed
ISRO Chief S Somnath said that the launch during this window (July 12-19) will be done only if all the tests are done successfully. He said that there should not be any problem during the upcoming launch, for this Chandrayaan-3’s hardware, structure, computer, software and sensors have been improved. If this launch is successful then India will be the fourth country in the world to do so. Earlier only America, Russia, and China could do this.
LVM-3 rocket will be used for Chandrayaan 3 launch
Chandrayaan has already reached the launch pad from UR Rao Satellite Center at Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. ISRO Chairman Somnath said that ‘the final preparations for the launch are going on. It will be completed by the end of this month. LVM-3 rocket is being used for this launch. The work of assembling it is going on. For this, all the parts have reached Sriharikota to be added.
