New Delhi: The central government filed a 200-page affidavit in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. In this, the Center has given information about the National Plan to fight Corona. In this, information is given about the plan made by the central government during the epidemic for the necessary supplies and services. Although day-to-day corona management has not been mentioned in this plan.
The affidavit states that even when the corona cases were down in mid-September, the central government had monitored the corona cases up to the district level and asked the states to take precaution regarding the corona. States were asked to be vigilant and keep a plan ready to deal with any emergency due to Corona.
On April 5, 43.19 lakh people were given vaccine doses in India. It was 34 percent of the total doses given to people on that day across the world. On 20 April, India announced a new campaign regarding vaccination. Now all people above 18 years of age will be given vaccine supplements. In this context, the emergency use of Sputnik-V has also been approved. 6 other vaccines are in clinical trials and 12 additional vaccines are in the pre-clinical phase. INYAS has been launched to remove confusion among people regarding the Corona vaccine.
Hafkine Biopharmaceutical Corporation Ltd of Mumbai has been given assistance of about 65 crores by the Government of India to make the vaccine. This PSE comes under the Government of Maharashtra. Haffkine Biopharmaceuticals has been asked to complete this process within 12 months. However, the central government has asked to complete this in the earliest 6 months. Once the vaccine manufacturing facility starts here, 20 million doses per month will be ready. Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) is also being assisted by the Government of India. Here 10-15 million doses of vaccine will be ready by August-September 2021.
The government has also mentioned the third phase of the vaccination campaign starting from May 1. The government has said that from May 1, all people above 18 years of age will be given vaccine doses. The National Plan states that in view of the current situation, such decisions have been taken by the government so that government institutions, stakeholders can take appropriate steps to deal with Corona as soon as possible.
CDSCO had already instructed all state drug controllers to conduct a special investigation on 10 April 2021 to prevent hoarding and black marketing of Remadecivir. This is being done regularly. DCGI and state drug controllers are taking the harshest action against black marketers. Action has been taken in 34 such cases that have surfaced at different places in the country. Along with seven licensee manufacturers, other manufacturing units are being brought together so that more products can be made with quality control. Regarding the Remdesivir Export Manufacturing Companies, the Center said that since the products which were specially manufactured for export by these companies did not go through any regulatory process. In such a situation, the quality standard of these medicines is not known for home use. However, using them for domestic use can be harmful to the health of Indians.
