Sidhi: A major accident took place in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh on the morning of Tuesday 16 February. A bus fell into the canal at around 7.30 am in Rampur Naikin police station area here. As soon as the incident was known, the police officer came to the spot and started the rescue work. It is learned that around 60 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the incident.
According to the information, the bus filled with passengers was going towards Satna. The bus suddenly went uncontrolled and overturned on Patna bridge of Rampur Naikin police station area located in Sidhi. Around 60 passengers, including Baghwar, Chorgarhi, were aboard the bus. The canal is so deep that the bus is completely submerged in it.
The administrative team reached the spot. Efforts are being made to take the bus out through the crane, but it is not being found. The team of SDRF is engaged in evacuating people. Help of divers is being taken in rescue work. 7 people were evacuated by starting a rescue operation, 4 of them had died.
On receiving information about the incident, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan spoke to Sidhi’s collector and got information. Instructing to speed up the rescue operation, he said to stop the water coming from Bansagar Dam towards the canal. The water coming out of Bansagar Dam has been stopped. So that the bus can be stopped from high speed. The water of Bansagar is being sent to Sihaval Canal, due to which the water level of the canal is reduced and people can be saved. As soon as the information of the incident is known, the people of the bus riders are also reaching the spot, there is chaos on the spot.
